The ever notorious duo of Tyler, The Creator and Earl Sweatshirt landed in Brisbane for the last show of their much-talked-about Earlwolf tour. Kicking off with the title track from Tyler's latest album Wolf, Tyler and Earl rampaged through 'French' and 'Sam Is Dead' with little pause.
Despite being an ardent fan, Odd Future live has been earmarked by mayhem, with chaos occuring on stage and in the crowd, and with Tyler taking up a lions share of the spotlight tonight (although it could have been Earl being quite ill, taking frequent pauses mid-song to turn and have a coughing fit), it seems to take a little while to ramp the show up to the previously-witnessed insanity the full group seem to bring.

Earl truly shines when performing his material, with 'Earl' and 'Orange Juice' leading into Tyler's predictable highlight duo of 'Bastard' and 'Yonkers'. Despite being obviously talented rappers, the controversy and whirlwind nature of the tour seems to have diminished both the performers, with the poisonous barbs spat by Tyler in 'Yonkers' lacking something. It could just be that Tyler's performance truly resides in the newer (and undoubtedly better) Wolf material, and Earl has yet to release a lot of music; it's hard to judge, but it seems that solo tours over duetting on each other songs, or the madness of the entire Wolf Gang should be the future of OFWGKTA.
